30 DoW: Psalm 84

Today begins days 11-20 of 30 Days of Worship. We are now to read a particular psalm each day, and highlight an attribute of God based on the language of each. Again I invite you to follow along with your own responses.

Psalm 84
1 How lovely is your dwelling place,
O Lord Almighty!

2 My soul yearns, even faints,
for the courts of the Lord;
my heart and my flesh cry out
for the living God.

3 Even the sparrow has found a home,
and the swallow a nest for herself,
where she may have her young--
a place near your altar,
O Lord Almighty, my King and my God.

4 Blessed are those who dwell in your house;
they are ever praising you.

5 Blessed are those whose strength is in you,
who have set their hearts on pilgrimage.

attribute & response:
I chose "Almighty" for today's attribute. I love how this shows both the heart yearning for the living God, and the gentle image of birds finding rest near Him. Thank you, LORD, that we can seek refuge near you who are nothing short of almighty and trust in the safety of your immeasurable strength.
